Emporium Alle-Catt team wins

Emporium and Port Allegany were due to square off in a pivotal Alle-Catt Amateur Baseball League makeup game Thursday night. The teams came into the game tied at 4-1 atop the East Division standings. No results were available by press time.
Youngsters jumping to Alle- Catt from the high school baseball team gave the Cats a boost Wednesday in a 16-7 victory over winless Crosby in another make-up game.
Among the high schoolers, Garrett Hornung had a home run, a single and four RBI. Mike Baker doubled and singled. Cameron Clingan pitched four solid innings.
Emporium also got four strong innings on the mound from Ryan Bresslin, who swatted four hits, including a pair of doubles, and drove in four runs. Ralph McKimm Jr. had three singles and two RBI. Paul Baker also contributed two hits.
In other recent action, Austin squared its record at 3-3 with a 35-5 slaughter of host Ludlow on Sunday. Austin was coming off a disappointing 18-4 loss to visiting Olean AOH on Saturday.
Austin will travel to Cuba, N.Y., on Saturday. Emporium will be at Olean AOH on Sunday. Both games start at 2 pm.
