Michael R. Hemphill Michael R. Hemphill, 49, of Roulette, formerly of Coudersport, died Friday (June 13, 2008) in Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Buffalo, N.Y., after a long battle with cancer. He was the son of Robert and Wanda Hemphill, Coudersport, and a graduate of Coudersport Area High School. Among survivors, in addition to his parents, is a special friend, Linda Kelsey, of Roulette. Hemphill was a long-time employee of Pure Carbon Company/Morgan AM&T and was an avid sports participant and fan. He was a standout basketball and baseball player as a youth and was recognized as the Coudersport Little League Player of the Year by American Legion Post 192. As an adult, he was a talented bowler and softball player and a devout fan of the New York Yankees and Buffalo Bills. Family members and friends will attend a memorial service and celebration of life gathering in Roulette in the near future. Arrangements are under the direction of the Olney Funeral Home of Ulysses. Family members request that memorial donations be made to Roulette Volunteer Fire Company, Roulette PA 16746; Coudersport Volunteer Ambulance Assn.; Patterson Cancer Center at Charles Cole Memorial Hospital; or Roswell Park Cancer Institute. |
