General Electric plant manager Jonathan Stehle reviewed operations of Emporium's facility at last week's Rotary meeting. He was the guest of Mary "Meg" Whiting. The Port Allegany resident has been the manager for six months. GE took over the previous Motor Coil Plant in 2001. The local factory employs some 61 people. Management encourages employees to be involved in community activities, Stehle said. Other GE employees attending included Rick Gibbs, Chuck Sarokon, Chuck Mazzarini, Fred Manginell, Mary Beth Stuart and two summer interns, Dan Frey and Kristen DeLucia. Emporium resident Drew Tompkins updated members on his activities as a senior at Florida State University. He was the recipient of the 2005 Rotary Scholarship. Rotary members also received 'thank yous' from > Our club received several "Thank You's" from the C ameron County Family Center, Cameron County Chamber of Commerce , as well as Margaret Krellner and Tasha Smith for being selected for the Rotary Youth Leadership Award.
