County web site to be improved

Cameron County's government website is being revamped, with the assistance of a local high school student.

Tacey Umbenhauer, who will be a senior at Cameron County High School, plans to update the site with a fresh listing of county, borough and town- ship officials, county history and photographs.

"It will benefit the county," said Brenda Munz, chief clerk for the Cameron County Board of Commissioners. "We also thought it would be a good way to do something (involving) the local high school."

Little has been done to update the site, accessible at cameroncountypa.com, over the past four years.

Information about consolidating county, borough and township governments was the only addition last year.

Umbenhauer has some ideas for improvements and additional suggestions are welcome, according to Munz, who can be reached at 486-2315.
