Community mural 'canvas' ready A variety of supplies are needed by local artists and volunteers to paint the Community Mural in Coudersport. It will be located on the Third Street side of the Penn-York Building, the home of the Potter County Education Council, facing the Coudersport Post Office. Contractor Larry Gibble has applied a foundation coat of white paint to serve as a canvas for the massive mural. Organizers have put out a call for ladders, brushes and other donated supplies. The lower portion of the mural will be made up of tiles that people can paint to reflect what Coudersport means to them. Upper portion will be a painting depicting scenes that relate the history of Coudersport, with individual themes including nature, Native Americans, early settlers and farming. Monetary donations are being accepted. Business owners and local residents can sponsor a tile for 50 dollars. Additional information is available from high school art teacher Sarah Batson. |
