 | | Two of the more popular attractions at the Pennsylvania Lumber Museum's annual Bark Peelers' Convention were a greased pole contest and the birling competition. In the former event, contestants try to stay on the slippery log as they use a pillow to knock off their opponents. Birling involves trying to stay perched on a floating log while dislodging a foe into the pond by spinning the log with fancy footwork.
