Youth football camp next week

Same-day registration is open for the first youth football camp to be held at Metzger Field, next to the high school.

Coudersport Area High School football coaching staffers and volunteers are donating their time to teach basic skills and rules of the game.

Sessions are scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday from 8 am to noon and are open to anyone entering grades four through seven in the upcoming school year.

The $10 fee includes a Tshirt and an invitation to a cookout on Wednesday afternoon following the final camp session.

Signups will also be available at the field on the camp's opening day.

This is a non-contact camp to introduce the game of football. There will be drills, instruction, rules discussions and games.

Head football coach Brendan Hathaway will lead the instruction, with help from assistant coaches, current and recent varsity football players.
