Thousands stolen
State police from Denton Hill were summoned to a Roulette Township home this week to investigate a burglary and theft.
Troopers said the owner, Cheryl Card, reported the theft of $22,800 in cash from her Railroad Avenue home. Police said entry into the home was not forced. The investigation continues.
Missing anything?
State police from Emporium are looking for the owners of several items recently recovered in the Emporium Borough.
A mountain bike, three signs and a tan purse were recovered and can be claimed at the barracks.
Vehicle vandalism
Investigation continues into the damage of a vehicle in Coudersport Monday.
Police say unknown individuals punctured the tire of a vehicle owned by Edward Bova of Dingman Run Road when it was parked on South Main Street in Coudersport. Damage
Police kept busy
A series of burglaries and acts of vandalism are under investigation in Potter County.
 | | No one was hurt in a one-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon on Route 155 in Keating Township, Potter County. Troopers said Chris Stilson of Port Allegany lost control of his northbound Ford pickup truck when the driver's side front tire blew out. The vehicle veered to the other side of the road and rolled onto the driver's side after hitting an embankment. Police report that unknown individuals caused extensive damage to a Ulysses home. Water was found turned on and a drain clogged, causing extensive damage to the ceiling and the floors.
Incident occurred at a home owned by Bradley and Lisa Soule between June 8 through July 12.
Meanwhile, valuable coins and a computer keyboard were taken from a home in Roulette owned by Tina Freeman sometime last weekend.
Sometime between Saturday and Sunday, unknown individuals damaged a tent set up to protect a yard sale at the Jennifer Sisson residence in Roulette.
Someone removed a six-foot aluminum ladder and propane gas tank from the home of Melissa Wheater in Ulysses.
A snowplow was stolen from the residence of Richard Jones in Genesee sometime last Friday or Saturday.
An ash tray and knife-sharpener were stolen from a camp in Summit Township owned by Francis Yusko of Ohio sometime July 13-25.
Failed the test
A Coudersport man escaped injury Sunday evening while test-driving his car in Roulette Township after making repairs.
State police at Denton Hill said Anthony Duell was driving east on Seymour Drive and applied the brakes as he approached the Reed Run intersection. An equipment failure caused the car to travel through the intersection and onto a private road before striking a metal gate.
Assault charge
Police say a Galeton area man dragged, pushed and pinned a woman on Monday in Ulysses Township.
Jason Smith, 37, faces charges of simple assault and harassment.
Cemetery vandalism
State police from Denton Hill are seeking public help in solving a burglary and vandalism at the Whites Corners Cemetery in Harrison Township between June 30 and July 13.
Unknown persons cut a padlock to gain entry and once inside, caused extensive damage to five caskets. Anyone who has information that would be helpful in solving the crime should call police at 274-8690.
Pot pipe discovered
A 17 year old Shinglehouse area youth is being charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Police say the owner of a house in Sharon Township found a pipe used to smoke marijuana and reported it to police who allegedly obtained an admission from the teen that he owned the pipe.
