Fall clean-up planned

Emporium Borough has announced changes for this year's Fall Clean-up Days.

Free curbside pickup of unwanted items will take place starting on Monday, Oct. 20, and continuing through Nov. 15. However, borough residents must contact the borough in advance to schedule pick-up. Calls are being taken at 486-0768, extension 21. No demolition/construction materials will be accepted. The intent is to provide a service that allows for disposing of minor amounts of building materials that accumulate throughout the year.

The borough will also not accept shingles, auto parts (including batteries), large heavy metal items, yard waste, refrigerators and air conditioners containing freon, or tires.
