THIS BUCK STILL HAS HUNTERS SHAKING THEIR HEADS
18-point wins Big Woods Whitetail Classic, forces 15-point to second!
      The buck that won this year's antler division in the Big Woods Whitetail Classic, turned the heads of even the most experienced and hardcore whitetail hunters. Shot by Ron Ayers, this buck scored nearly five points higher than the second place winner, which was an incredible buck taken by Paul Letterman of Emporium.

CANOE, KAYAK CLASSIC PLANNED APRIL 4
      Plans are being firmed up for one of the largest and oldest kayaking and canoeing competitions in the state -- the 35th annual Cameron County Canaoe and Kayak Classic. Organizer Randy Bailey said the popular springtime tradition down the Driftwood Branch of Sinnemahoning Creek is set for April 4.

Deer management goals to be aired
      All eyes will be on the Pa. Game Commission during the agency's three-day meetings, which open on Sunday in Harrisburg. Staff recommendations on how many antlerless deer licenses to sell for the 2009-10 hunting seasons will be discussed. Decisions won't be made until April, by which time the Game Commission will have results from the 2008-09 deer-hunting seasons.
