Shown are some of the more than two dozen local leaders and other officials gathered at the Pennsylvania Lumber Museum in Potter County last week for an update on the planned expansion and renovation project. Larson Design Group, architectural and engineering consultant, discussed design goals and coordination with regional tourist promotion initiatives and community organizations. Officials plan to engage the public in the design process. If all goes as planned, construction will be completed by June 2011. Additions will increase the size of the Lumber Museum by upwards of 7,000 square feet. Work will include refurbishing the exterior and interior, including new mechanical and electrical systems. Football's Super Bowl has the attention of all the sportsminded people. I like both teams, so I really don't care who wins. I have an NFL parka and it is one super coat, but I am always on guard when I wear it because is a Dallas Cowboys item. Cameron County High School students Katie Caldwell and Melissa Moore showed their homemade obstacle course based on the bilby, a bandicoot (marsupial) common in Australia, during a multi-school Geography Festival in Ridgway. Enrichment and gifted students researched topics and created displays, artwork, computer slide shows and board games on Australia. Participants dressed up like a bilby during the competition.
