Employees at GKN's plant one were informed Thursday that third shift will be shut down indefinitely next week. As many as 20 full-time employees will lose their jobs as a result. Two area women are featured in "67 Women, 67 Counties: Facing Breast Cancer in Pennsylvania." The traveling exhibit runs through March 23 at Charles Cole Memorial Hospital's Irwin Medical Arts Building. Retired Coudersport Borough Public Works Director Samuel W. Long, 72, of Coudersport, died Friday (March 6, 2009) at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre. Born on July 16, 1936 in Galeton, he was the son of John and Mary Carney Long. On Nov. 3, 1973 in Coudersport, he married Donna M. Abbott, who survives. More...
