A record number of paddlers turned out for the 2009 Cameron County Canoe & Kayak Classic, held last Saturday on the Driftwood Branch of the Sinnemahoning River. The 182 paddlers who registered for the race was an event record and came as a surprise to event organizers who thought the 30-degree temperatures and 40 mile an hour wind gusts would keep some people at home.
