Children at the Northern Tier Community Action Corp. Head Start in Emporium joined with other organizations to support a successful aluminum beverage can "pop-tab" charity fund-raiser spearheaded by an international restaurant chain. Ninth grade art students at Austin School painted the windows at the Post Office as part of their end-of-the-year art project. That's Kyle Knefley working on the United States Navy Seal. The painting coincides with the USPS's celebration of Bob Hope and its plan to release a stamp in his honor. As part of the stamp release, the Austin Post Office is celebrating military personnel the way Hope so often did. The Post Office will run a "Adopt A Box" campaign that will give USPS customers an opportunity to send care packages to soldiers around the world, using the USPS flat rate box, specifically for military addresses. People who choose to adopt a box must fill it and mail it. Mailing will be $11.95, $2 off the normal rate.
