While they continue to advocate "tax fairness," the Potter County Commissioners aren't yet ready to authorize a countywide reassessment. Defoliation caused by two close relatives, the forest tent and eastern tent caterpillar, is causing concern for people in many sections of Cameron and Potter County. Pa. Bureau of Forestry officials say there is no cause for alarm. Eastern tent caterpillars primarily feed on black cherry trees along with other species in that same family (apple, crab apple, hawthorn, and pin cherry). More...
