Lots to do this holiday weekend

There's no need to travel far to enjoy Independence Day Weekend. This week's Endeavor News tells you all you need to know about these activities:

• Emporium hosts the Cameron County Arts Fest continues on Saturday with a multitude of artists and craftsmen, kids' activities, music, food and a fireworks display in the evening.

• Coudersport's Courthouse Square will be a sweet place on Saturday, when the New Century Club women serve up their famous strawberry shortcake and sundaes.

• Austin's Giant Yard Sale continues through Sunday. Saturday's events include a chicken barbecue and fireworks.

• Galeton's Red Suspender Weekend is highlighted on Saturday by a 5K Run, parade, festival and fireworks.

• Lyman Run, Sizerville, Cherry Springs and Sinnemahoning state parks all have programs planned for Saturday.

• Biggest event of all is the Bark Peeler's Convention on Saturday and Sunday at the Pennsylvania Lumber Museum between Coudersport and Galeton.
