      Gerd Oyen Miller, an active member of the Austin community for many years, died July 23, 2009, after a brief illness. She was 95. Gerd was born to Norwegian parents, Erling Olaf and Ragnhild Tveten Oyen, in Butler, Pa., on Dec. 14, 1913. A nurse, she served in Oslo, Norway, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, and Brooklyn, N.Y.
