'To Fill A Backpack' charity helping over 200 kids— so far
Volunteers of all ages gathered Tuesday in Port Allegany to stuff backpacks which will be distributed to students throughout Potter and eastern McKean counties. Andy Kulp Jr., who coordinates "To Fill a Backpack" along with Jackee Culver, said 25 volunteers prepared 215 backpacks in about a half-hour. More...

Coudersport's father and son team of Jim and John Currin won the two-man cross-cut saw competition at Cherry Springs State Park. Raymond J. Flaugh, 78, of Driftwood died Thursday morning, Aug. 5, 2009, at his home. He was born in Sproul, a son of the late Perry and Lillie (Corle) Harpster. He married Eva J. Hostler on July 19, 1954, in Bellwood. In 1974, he retired at the rank of master sergeant from the United States Marine Corps, with 22 years of service. More...
