Representatives from the state's natural gas industry will be converging on Potter County Thursday night to field questions and address public concerns about the dawning gas rush. Family-oriented evening coffee houses have returned to The Spot, a gathering center along Rt. 6, west of Sweden Valley. Sessions are being held each Friday night from 6:30 to 8:30. Coudersport Free Methodist Church is the sponsor. Singer and guitarist "Bear" Dalrymple shared songs of faith and inspiration at last weekend's coffee house. Next event is a Game Night on Aug. 28. The Spot, located in the former Mock's Mini- Mart, is a ministry center for the church and the community. There is no admission charge. Virginia E. Gill, 76, of Ulysses, PA, died Friday (Aug. 14, 2009) in her home. Born February 19, 1933, in Carlisle, PA, she was the daughter of Lawrence and Annie Keener Schaefer. Funeral services were held at the Harrison Valley Christian & Missionary Alliance Church on Tuesday. The Rev. Timothy H. Miller officiated. Burial was Ulysses Cemetery. More...
