      Extras in the movie "Unstoppable" put in long days - as many as 12 hours - at the rate of around $102 per day. It can be tedious. A lot of time is spent standing around and waiting for scenes to be set up. But being part of a major motion picture is exciting. For most, it's a once-in-a-lifetime event.

Thirty-One properties remain after Upset Sale
      A concerted effort by Potter County Tax Claim Bureau staff led to the county collecting more than $150,000 in delinquent taxes and fees prior to Monday's auction. Thirty-one properties remain unsold after bidding at the Upset Sale, which saw disposal of only two properties on which 2007 taxes were owed.

Transpor tation contractor discontinues lawsuit
      A lawsuit filed by an area school bus contractor against Coudersport School District has been discontinued. During Monday evening's work session, School Board members were presented with copies of a court order signed by Potter County Judge John Leete, discontinuing Muccio School Transportation's suit against the school district filed earlier this summer.

Man apprehended after fleeing, hitting officer with stolen car
      Several charges have been filed against a Coudersport man following an incident that started in the borough and ended up out a country road Monday night. Police allege that Jason O. Gutshall, 20, stole a pickup truck and drove it while intoxicated.
