      Richard Alfred Merry II, 72, of Emporium died Monday (Sept. 14, 2009) in the UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born Aug 29, 1937 in Bradford, a son of Richard Alfred and Elizabeth Rice Merry. Mr. Merry was a 1955 graduate of Bradford High School and was a self-employed arborist. He owned and operated Rich's Tree Service for many years.

      Robert C. "Bob" Crosby, 88, of Odin Road, Austin/ Coudersport, died Sunday (Sept. 13, 2009) at Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre. Born Oct. 23, 1920 in Odin, he was the son of Guy A. and Florence M. Faucett Crosby. On August 16, 1941, in Bark Shanty, he married Levia S. "Kitten" MacMartin, who survives.

Friends will be received today (Sept. 19) at 10:30 am at the Barnett Funeral Home, 207 E. Fourth Street, Emporium. A funeral service will follow at 11 am, with Rev. Paul S. Siebert, pastor of St. Mark Catholic Church, officiating.
