      There was little suspense as the undefeated Cameron County Red Raiders trotted onto the gridiron last Friday night to meet the struggling Otto-Eldred Terrors. The visitors have been able to rescue their football program from oblivion, but they were clearly overmatched in Emporium as the 42-0 halftime score demonstrated.

Coudersport wins ‘mud bowl’ 15-6
      Smethport didn’t play like a winless team as the Hubbers hosted Coudersport in a high school football game that carried higher stakes for the visitors than the downtrodden hosts. Overcoming muddy conditions that hampered both offenses, the Falcons came from behind and kept their playoff hopes alive with a hard-fought 15-6 win, improving to 4-2.

      for soccer title Coudersport is still battling Brockway for a high school soccer league title, but the overarching goal for the Falcons (11-3) is a PIAA District 9 championship. Coach Brian Empson’s offense came to life Wednesday evening against Johnsonburg, recording a 6-1 win.

Volleyball teams looking toward NTL playoffs
      Otto-Eldred’s march toward the Northern Tier High School Volleyball League title continued, leaving some of the other teams to look ahead to the “second season.” The Terrors (9-0) have opened up a two-game lead down the stretch, but every team is 0-0 entering the playoffs.
