Countywide emergency services group meets
      Each fire, ambulance and fire police organization in the county is asked to designate at least one representative for the Potter County Emergency Services Council. It’s an effort to bring together emergency agencies from throughout the county to explore common interests and strategies, including financial options, while updating members on recent issues and developments.

Austin native warden at federal prison in Muncy
     Potter County native David Ebbert detailed his experiences as warden of the medium-security facility in the Allenwood federal prison complex during a presentation last week in Lycoming County.

Bridge, road projects slated
      Several Potter County projects are listed on state’s Transportation Improvement Program for work from now through 2012. Potter County Planning Director Charlotte Dietrich stressed that the projects are dependent on funding. Many are already in the preliminary engineering stage.

‘Phantom friends’ come from seven states
      About 30 Phantom Friends came to Potter County to celebrate their mutual passion for the writings of local author Margaret Sutton during the annual Judy Bolton Days. Peg Rotello, an organizer of the reunion, said there were participants from Florida, Wisconsin, California, Minnesota, Maryland, Ohio and many sections of Pennsylvania.

Potter County flu clinics slated
      Charles Cole Memorial Hospital and the Potter County Area Agency on Aging have scheduled the following clinics, which will offer no-cost seasonal influenza and pneumonia immunizations to Potter County residents age 18 and older who are elderly, uninsured, underinsured or have limited ability to travel. Human Services back to full schedule
      Potter County Human Services staff who have been on a reduced schedule as a result of the prolonged state budget negotiations are expected to resume a regular five-day work week on Monday.

Drug case sentencings scheduled in Potter County Court
      Three drug cases recently came before Judge John Leete in the Potter County Court of Common Pleas. Each of the three defendants is scheduled for sentencing on Nov. 18.
