Dinner, basket raffle to benefit SOAP group

Several fund-raisers are underway or in the works by Coudersport’s Save Our Area Pool (SOAP) organization.

A chicken and dumplings dinner will be held Sunday, Dec. 6, from 11 am to 2 pm at the Hotel Crittenden. Menu includes chicken and dumplings, salad, beverage and rice pudding. Cost is $10 for adults and $5.00 for children under 10.

St. Eulalia Catholic Daughters of the Americas are selling chances on a “Christmas in Tuscany” basket of merchandise, with proceeds to benefi t SOAP. The basket, valued at $150, contains all the ingredients for a homemade pasta dinner, along with implements for preparing and serving the food, decorative grapes, wine, glasses, a wine cork and more.

Tickets are $1.00 each, or six for $5.00. They are available from Lucinda Weakland at the Gunzburger Building, at Dr. Pete Ryan’s office, by calling Teresa Kisiel at 274-9086, Loretta Vogler at 260-9158, or from any CDA Court Doyle #932 member. Tickets will also be sold at the chicken and dumplings dinner, where the basket will be on display.

Drawing will be held Dec. 16, at the Advent Luncheon at St. Eulalia Parish Center.

Planning is also underway for a benefit dinner dance on Saturday, Feb. 13. The event will be sponsored by the local Masonic chapter and Knights of Columbus, with proceeds going to SOAP.
