Community Foundation accepts Potter County
      Community Foundation for the Twin Tiers (CFTT) has accepted Potter County as an equal partner, joining Bradford, Sullivan, and Tioga counties in Pennsylvania and Tioga County in New York Representatives of Potter County are setting up an advisory committee and identifying individuals to serve on the CFTT board, which will expand to 15 members.

‘Fat Tuesday’ in Austin
      Austin United Methodist Church presents its fourth annual Fat Tuesday Feast on Feb. 16 from 4-7 pm at the Austin Firehall. Diners can choose from among beef, turkey, meat loaf, hot dogs, sauerkraut, potatoes, baked beans, macaroni and cheese, salads, hot vegetables along with casserole and desserts, including a traditional King Cake.

      Tickets will be available at the door as A Way Out hosts its 13th annual Chocolate Lovers Fantasy on Saturday (today) from 6-10 pm at the Coudersport Consistory. The event is a fund-raiser for the agency, which provides assistance and support to victims of domestic violence while working to raise public awareness.

      A youth group at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Coudersport is raising money to help earthquake victims in Haiti. The group will hold a luncheon from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm at the church’s social hall on Sunday, Feb. 7. Soup, desserts and beverages will be available.

      Exercise classes for people of all ages and fitness levels are offered at the Well ness Center at Charles Cole Memorial Hospital. Silver Sneakers is a beginner’s class featuring cardio, weights, exercise rope, small ball and stretching. It meets from 2-3 pm Mondays and Wednesdays, or 9-10 am Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Children’s program resumes
      Emporium Christian and Missionary Alliance Church is reopening its Wednesday night children’s program, beginning Feb. 10 from 6:30-8 pm. Children in kindergarten through sixth grade are invited. Each night is filled with games, music, a snack and a Bible lesson. There is no cost and pre-registration is not required.       Cameron County High School history teacher Tom Glosek is organizing a tour of Ireland, Scotland, Wales and England, tentatively leaving Emporium on June 15 and lasting 11 days.
