Community Foundation accepts Potter County

Community Foundation for the Twin Tiers (CFTT) has accepted Potter County as an equal partner, joining Bradford, Sullivan, and Tioga counties in Pennsylvania and Tioga County in New York

Representatives of Potter County are setting up an advisory committee and identifying individuals to serve on the CFTT board, which will expand to 15 members.

Residents of Potter County have already established two funds at the CFTT. Benjamin and Sheila Olney of Ulysses, operators of Olney Funeral Home, started a fund to help address identified needs. Ulysses Library Board established an endowment fund for the library through a donation from the estate of Ruth R. Agar.

CFTT, incorporated as a non-profit agency, is committed to improving the quality of life in the five counties. It establishes endowment funds from contributions of individuals, corporations, other foundations, charitable organizations and government agencies for philanthropic purposes.

Anyone interested in learning more or in establishing a fund should call 570-888-4759, send email to cftt@stny.rr.com, or visit the website twintierscf.org.
