Reaching out to tourists Potter County is prominently represented at the Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show, which continues through Feb. 14 at the State Farm Show Complex, Harrisburg. “This is the biggest consumer travel show that we attend,” said David Brooks, executive director of Potter County Visitors Association. “We operate a joint booth with the other Pennsylvania Wilds counties. Typically, we go through an average of 1,000 visitors’ guides per day and we take along our members’ brochures as well.” Goal is to persuade tourists to visit the region for hunting, fishing and other out- door pursuits. “I think Potter County has been represented at this show every year since the organization was first created more than 40 years ago,” Brooks pointed out. “Southeastern Pennsylvania – the Harrisburg, York and Philadelphia area – is still Potter County’s largest source of visitors.” Show times are 10 am to 7 pm, except for Feb. 7 and Feb. 14, when the show closes at 5 pm.
