Marvin Deupree

Marvin Deupree, 94, of Upper Montclair, N. J., long-time manager of the Emporium Specialties plant in Austin, died Feb. 13, 2012, in New Jersey.

Born and raised in Woodbine, Iowa, Mr. Deupree graduated from the University of Iowa in 1942 and served as a supply officer in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He earned a masters degree in business administration from the University of Pennsylvania in 1948 and subsequently became a certified public accountant. After retiring as a partner with Arthur Andersen in the 1970s, he began work as manager of Emporium Specialties, a position he maintained for more than three decades.

He had lived for many years in Coudersport and remained active in the operations of the plant in Austin until recently.

Mr. Deupree was predeceased by his wife, Katherine, in 1995. He is survived by his daughter, Meredith Deupree of Bloomfield, N.J.; his son, Marvin Deupree Jr. and wife Alice of Montclair; and his grandson, Lucas Deupree.

C. C. Van Emburgh Funeral Home in Ridgewood, N. J., was in charge of arrangements. Interment was at Valleau Cemetery, Ridgewood. Memorials may be made to the Mayo Clinic Cancer Center.

Rose M. Kenealy

Rose M. Kenealy, 94, of Coudersport, died Jan. 31, 2012, in Buffalo, N.Y. She was the daughter of Massimo and Maria Garbi Masolotte and was a lifelong resident of Coudersport. Among survivors is her husband of 68 years, William B. Kenealy; a sister, Tillie Masolotte, and two daughters. A memorial mass will be held in April at the St. Eulalia Catholic Church in Coudersport. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Ralph H. Stebbins

Ralph H. Stebbins, 83, of Genesee, died Feb. 17, 2012, in his home. He worked for many years in the construction industry. Among survivors is his wife of 20 years, the former Patricia Yentzer; a daughter, Shirley Snyder of Roulette; and two sisters, Eileen Zapel of Dothan, Ala., and Charlene Rubar of Oswayo. A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, April 7, at the Sweden Valley Faith United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to McKean County SPCA, American Heart Association or Salvation Army. Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home of Shinglehouse is in charge of arrangements.

Elliott F. Knight

Elliott F. “Dutch” Knight, 34, of Coudersport, died Feb. 15, 2012, in Roulette. Born Jan. 21, 1978, in Coudersport, he was the son of Rodney F. and Paula M. Livingston Knight. On Sept, 7, 2005, he married Mary Morrow, who survives. Also surviving is his mother, of Renovo; two daughters, and two sisters. Fickinger Funeral Home of Coudersport was in charge of arrangements.

Hugh D. Pearsall

Hugh D. Pearsall, 80, of Shinglehouse, died Feb. 19, 2012, at Wellsville (N.Y.) Manor Care Center. Among survivors are two sons, the Rev. Clint E. Pearsall of Oswayo and Wade L. Pearsall of Shinglehouse; and a daughter, Sonja J. (Mrs. Joel) Andrews of Shinglehouse. Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home of Shinglehouse was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in Rathbone Cemetery, Coneville. Memorials may be made to the Oswayo Valley Memorial Library.

Robert J. Healy

Robert J. Healy, 92, of Port Allegany, died Feb. 12, 2012, in Fairfax, Va. Among survivors is his wife of 70 years, the former Theresa M. Tasillo, and five children. An outstanding athlete, Mr. Healy owned and operated a beer distributorship and later earned an accounting degree and operated R. J. Healy’s Accounting and Tax Service. He was an avid tennis player and a former football coach at Port Allegany High School.

Tillie C. Ludwig

Tillie C. Ludwig, 86, of Austin, died Feb. 19, 2012 at her home following a lengthy illness. A native of Buffalo, she was the daughter of Louis and Anna Carrino Celia. She married Boyd Ludwig in Emporium; he died on Aug. 21, 1976.

Mrs. Ludwig was a longtime resident of Austin and was employed for many years at Emporium Specialties Company. She had served with the Women’s Army Corps in the 1940s. Among survivors are a daughter, Juanita (Mrs. David) Allman of Austin; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters. Fickinger Funeral Home of Coudersport was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in Portage Township Cemetery, Gardeau. Memorials may be made to Potter County Hospice.

Ronald L. Mundt

Ronald L. Mundt Sr., 69, of Whitesville, N.Y., died Feb. 19, 2012 in his home. He was employed as a carpenter with Canadice Construction. A memorial service will be held at 2 pm Saturday, Feb. 25, at the Whitesville Firehall. Memorials may be made to Visiting Nursing Assn. of Wellsville, N.Y. Olney Funeral Home, Ulysses, is in charge of arrangements.
