New superintendent at CASD
Coudersport Area School District has hired Jacqueline Canter as superintendent of schools, replacing Alanna Huck, who resigned last September to accept a similar position with Galeton Area School District.
Board members approved a three-year contract with a starting annual salary of $105,000.
Canter received her bachelor’s degree in secondary mathematics education as well as a master’s in instructional systems from Penn State University.
She served for 13 years as a teacher and assistant principal in the Mifflinburg Area School District before transitioning to DuBois Area School District, where she functioned as director of assessment and student services for over a decade. Canter also gained experience by serving as acting superintendent for DuBois for six months last year.
Canter said she looks forward to the challenges of her new role: “My goal is to make a substantial impact while leading Coudersport Area School District to ensure that all students, regardless of their background, have equal access to a high-quality educational program that has high expectations for all.”
