Habitat resale store in S. Valley
Potter County Habitat for Humanity is relocating its resale store from Port Allegany Road in west Coudersport to the former video rental store at the intersection of Rts. 6 and 44 in Sweden Valley.
An open house has been planned for Thursday through Saturday, Feb. 23-25.
Habitat is looking for items to stock its new store. Furniture, appliances, building materials and many other items are welcome, but the organization has no use for TVs, clothing, tires or mattresses. Those with items to donate are asked to call Dick Myers at 910-279-7412 to arrange for a drop-off time or to request a pickup.
Proceeds from the resale store go toward materials for Habitat for Humanity homes that are built to provide affordable housing to low-income Potter County residents. The store also supports the organization’s Brush With Kindness program, serving those in need of home repairs.
At the resale store, customers can often find interior doors, closet doors, exterior doors, kitchen sinks, vanity tops, furniture items, bath tubs and windows.
Habitat for Humanity can always use more volunteers, Myers said, and anyone interested in joining the organization is welcome to call him.
