Donna L. Williams

Donna L. Williams, 49, of Plank Road Hollow, Emporium, died Feb. 7, 2017, at home. She was born in DuBois, a daughter of Mary Ellen Plaszenski Walters and Richard Celinski. A 1985 graduate of Cameron County High School, she worked for several years at Teletron in Erie before returning to Emporium. Among survivors are her mother; stepfather, Theodore Walters; son, Corey Dean Williams; a sister, Jeanette (Mrs. Tom) Tiemissen; and two brothers, Ted L. Walters and Daniel B. Walters, Indianapolis, Indiana. Barnett Funeral Home handled arrangements.

Ralph R. Heiser Jr.

Ralph Ray Heiser Jr., 39, of Coudersport, died Feb. 4, 2017, shortly after arrival at Cole Memorial Hospital in Coudersport. Born in Ephrata, he was the son of Ralph Heiser Sr. and Bonnie Kay Good. In 2012, he married Brandy L. Shreve. An Eagle Scout, he served with the Civil Air Patrol for a time and and more recently volunteered for the Coudersport Volunteer Fire Department. Among survivors are his wife, his parents and a daughter. Arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, Olean, N.Y.

Shirley L. Priest

Shirley L. Priest, 86, of Emporium, died Feb. 10, 2017, at UPMC-Altoona Hospital, Altoona. She was born in Knox, a daughter of Robert L. and Grace Shepherdson Wenner. In 1954, she married Donald R. Priest. The oldest of 14 siblings, Shirley helped raise her brothers and sisters in her early years. She worked for many years at Sylvania in Emporium and later worked at the Sheetz convenience store. Among survivors are her husband; three children, Dana Priest of Truman, Kathy (Mrs. Martin) Tully of Thompson, and Curt Priest of Eldred; and nine siblings. Barnett Funeral Home handled arrangements. Burial was in Newton Cemetery.

Jack D. Hewitt

Jack D. Hewitt, 75, of Coneville, died Feb. 10, 2017, at Cole Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Born in Battle Creek, Mich., he was a son of Carl Oliver and Dorothy Edna Mae Brown Hewitt. He married Lila M. Pepperman. Jack served in the U.S. Army for 20 years, in both Korea and Vietnam, continuing his education throughout his military career. Among survivors are his wife are three children, Michelle, Christine, and John; a brother, Earl L. Huitt; and two sisters, Virginia Argo and Cynthia Scovel. Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse, handled arrangements. Burial was in Rathbone Cemetery, Coneville.

Joseph R. Gibbs

Joseph R. Gibbs, 72, of Emporium, died Feb. 11, 2017, at his residence. He was born in St. Marys, a son of William B. and Helen Koczwara Gibbs Sr. In 1969, he married Kathi Mullin. A 1964 graduate of Cameron County High School, he was a Navy veteran. He worked for 37 years at GKN in Emporium. Among survivors are his wife; two sons, Kirk and Brett Gibbs, both of Emporium; a sister, Shirley Dippold of St. Marys; and a brother, William Gibbs Jr. Friends will be received from 1 to 2:45 on Saturday, Feb. 18, at Barnett Funeral Home, with a memorial service to follow at 3. Cameron County Memorial Detail will accord military rites.

Elizabeth J. Bucheit

Elizabeth J. “Libby” Bucheit, 74, of Coudersport, died Feb. 11, 2017, in her home. Born in Coudersport, she was the daughter of Kenneth and Angela DeSantis Tauscher. In 1965, she married Leo C. Bucheit. Libby was employed by Sears in Coudersport for many years. She was a devout member of St. Eulalia Catholic Church. Among survivors are her husband; four daughters, Julia Ann (Mrs. Michael) Markowski of Mountain Top, Jennifer Sue (Mrs. Trevor) Saulter of Coudersport, Sonia Lyn (Mrs. Jason) Villanti of Sayre, and Carol Lee Bucheit of Coudersport; and six siblings, Kathryn Germino of Galeton, Kenneth E. Tauscher of Avon Park, Fla., Richard D. Tauscher of North Chesterfield, Va., Carolyn Lamb of Niagara Falls, N.Y., Sue (Mrs. Edwin) Bowman of Wheeling, W. Va., and Constance (Mrs. Russell) Hicks of Bath, N.Y. Interment was in Sweden Hill Cemetery. Olney Funeral Home, Ulysses, handled arrangements.

Donald C. Simons

Donald C. Simons, 91, of Coudersport, died Feb. 11, 2017, at Cole Memorial Hospital. Born in Savona, N.Y., he was the son of George and Bessie Walker Simons. In 1960, he married Mary Vanetta Campbell Simons. Donald worked for many years as a sawyer in local lumber mills. Among survivors are his wife and two daughters, Jeanette Wragg of Coudersport and Patricia Simons of West Chester. A memorial gathering will be held from noon to 3 on April 9 at American Legion Post 192 in Coudersport. Burial will be in Tioga Evergreen Cemetery. Fickinger Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Janice Butchello

Janice Butchello, 82 of Coudersport, died Feb. 10, 2017 at Cole Memorial Hospital. Born in Roulette, she was the daughter of Walter and Mary Lyons Shalkowski. Janice had worked at multiple area restaurants and for more than 10 years she was employed at the Daytona Beach (Fla.) Kennel Club. Among survivors is a son, Craig Butchello, of Painesville, Ohio. Burial was in St. Bonaventure (N.Y.) Cemetery. Fickinger Funeral Home handled arrangements.
