Changes are in the offing for PennDOT’s Route 6 reconstruction project in downtown Coudersport. Traffic will switch to the completed lanes of Main St. and Chestnut St. Construction will then begin on the remaining lanes. A one-way single lane of travel will be maintained on Rt. 6, with local detours used for the opposite direction of traffic. This stage is expected to be completed in September, at which time construction will begin on Second Street. The overall work zone stretches from the West Street intersection to Ludwig Lane. Work includes roadway reconstruction, drainage improvements, bridge rehabilitation, traffic signal upgrades, water line relocation, pavement markings, and miscellaneous items. Glenn O. Hawbaker Inc. of State College is contractor on the $4.8 million project, which will continue until Thanksgiving or later.
