Curt Weinhold photo Curt Weinhold photo Another successful Woodsmen’s Show filled Cherry Springs State Park in central Potter County last weekend. This was the 66th year for the one-of-a-kind festival that highlights the rich lumber heritage and traditions of the area. Several years ago, Galeton Rotary Club took over sponsorship of the event from the Penn-York Lumbermen’s Assn. and it didn’t skip a beat. A highlight was Saturday’s professional lumberjack competition, pitting entrants with international reputations. Among them was Arden “Jamie” Cogar Jr., 46, a West Virginia lawyer who still holds his own against a largely younger field demonstrating their skills in crosscut saw, springboard, log rolling, ax throwing and tree felling events.
