Krystal Lynn Howard

Krystal Lynn Howard, 31, of Coudersport, died Oct. 1, 2017, in her home. Born in Wellsville, N.Y., she was a daughter of Daniel E. and Linda K. McDowell Brownell. A graduate of Wellsville High School, she had been employed by Howard’s Inc. in Coudersport and, most recently, as an insurance verification representative at Cole Memorial Hospital. She was active with the Potter County Snowmobile Club and was a volunteer soccer and baseball coach. Among survivors are her parents; two sons, Dylan W. Howard and Daniel D. “Duke” Howard; her sister, Kay C. (Mrs. Andy) Middaugh of Friendship, N.Y.; and her former husband, Christopher W. Howard. A service will be held at noon on Sunday, Oct. 8, at the Willing (N.Y.) Firehall. Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse, is in charge of arrangements.

Jo Ann Langley

Jo Ann W. Langley, 84, a lifetime resident of Coudersport, died Sept. 30, 2017. Born in Coudersport, she was a daughter of Francis and Geraldine Dodd Way. Jo Ann was a telephone operator for Bell Telephone Company and later was employed at the Potter County Prothonotary’s Office. Lastly, she served as a personal secretary for John Rigas. Among survivors are two daughters, Patti A. (Mrs. Ben) Slocum of Lancaster and Rhonda L. (Mrs. Gary) Morley of Coudersport; a son, Scott W. Langley of Coudersport; and a sister, Jackie Dehn of Rustin, Fla. Family and friends may call from 3-4 pm on Sunday, Oct. 8, at the Coudersport Free Methodist Church, 507 S. Main St., where a memorial service will follow. Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse, is handling arrangements.

Brenton M. Tubbs

Brenton M. Tubbs, 23, of Coudersport, formerly of Ulysses, committed suicide Oct. 1, 2017, in his home. A graduate of Northern Potter High School, he was employed as a radiographer by TEI Analytical Services. Among survivors are his mother, Debbie Tubbs Lepold of Coudersport; his grandparents who raised him, Basil and Janet Tubbs of Ulysses; and two siblings, Sierra Lepold and Kameron Lepold, both of Coudersport. Burial will be in Ulysses Cemetery. Friends will gather at the Sweden Valley Faith United Methodist Church on Saturday, Oct. 7, beginning at 2 pm. Olney Funeral Home, Ulysses, is in charge of arrangements.

Thomas W. Richardson

Thomas W. Richardson, 51, of Coudersport, died Oct. 1, 2017, at his home. Born in Chester, he was a son of William L. Richardson Sr. and Marie L. Kindt Richardson. He was employed as a tank truck driver for several years. Among survivors are his mother, Marie L. “Dolly” Richardson of Coudersport; three children; a brother; and a sister, Kate M. (Mrs. Jeffrey) Reynold of Roulette. Friends may call from 5- 6 pm Friday, Oct. 20, at North Eulalia Baptist Church, where a service will follow. Virgil L. Robert L. Lane

Robert L. Lane, 84, of Harrison Valley, died Oct. 1, 2017 in Jones Memorial Hospital, Wellsville, N.Y. Born in Pen Argyle, he was the son of William J. and Ruth F. Lane. In 1955, he married Elba N. Dennis. An Army veteran of the Korean War, Bob was employed by Phillipsburg Bridge and Construction Co. for 30 years, and as maintenance supervisor by Northern Potter School District for 12 years. He also operated a farm in Harrison Valley with his son for many years. Among survivors are his wife and two sons, Rodney E. Lane of Harrison Valley and C. Kevin Lane of Delray Beach, Fla. Burial will be in Whites Corners Cemetery. Olney Funeral Home, Ulysses, is handling arrangements.

Bonnie E. Watts

Bonnie E. Watts, 73, of Galeton, died Sept. 29, 2017, at her home. Born in Dexter, N.Y., she was a daughter of William and Mildred (Munson) Emerson. Bonnie was a hairdresser and a general manager for Amoco gas stations for many years. Among survivors are a son, Robert Ostrander of Georgia; three daughters, Marjorie Strong, Palm Coast, Fla., and Bonnie Montgomery and Mildred (Josh Carron) Evernham, both of Galeton; and five siblings. Hess Funeral Home, Galeton, is in charge of arrangements.

Herbert L. Hanes

Herbert L. Hanes, 88, of Sunderlinville, died Sept. 28, 2017, in his home. Born in Pike Township, he was the son of Leon C. and Vera Morgan Hanes. In 1951, he married Naomi Johnson. He was employed by Elkland Leather Company, Eberle Tanning Co., in Westfield, and retired from Patterson Lumber in Galeton. Among survivors are his wife, six children, three brothers, and a sister. Olney Funeral Home, Ulysses, is handling arrangements. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Potter Brook.

Jay I. McGee

Jay I. McGee Sr., 88, of Roulette, died Sept. 25, 2017, at Cole Memorial Hospital. Born in Betula, he was a son of Gerald G. and Anna B. Leonard McGee. In 1956, he married Lorraine E. Henry, who died in 2003. In 2008, he married Marion “June” Wright, who died in 2013. Mr. McGee was a Navy veteran of World War II. He had worked for North Penn Gas Co., Port Allegany, for many years. Friends will be received from 10-11 am Saturday, Oct. 7, at Switzer Funeral Home in Port Allegany, where a memorial service will follow.
