James M. Heffner

James Merle Heffner, 74, of Coudersport, died Nov. 4, 2017, at his home after a prolonged illness. He was born in St. Marys, the son of Charles and Dorothy (Johnson) Heffner. In 1968, he married Kay Cyphert. Jim served as a Navy corpsman for six years and as an Air Force nurse for four years. He served as the infection control nurse and the education coordinator at Cole Memorial Hospital in Coudersport for 23 years, and as a home health nurse for several years. He also was a volunteer EMT coordinator/instructor for Potter County. Among survivors are his wife; a daughter, Sherry of Columbus, Ohio; and three siblings. Fickinger Funeral Home handled arrangements. Burial was in Sweden Hill Cemetery.

Florence C. Stoltz Jack

Florence C. Stoltz Jack, 84, of DuBois, formerly of Emporium, died Nov. 2, 2017, at Christ the King Manor. Born in St. Boniface, she was the daughter of Wilfred and Anna (Thomas) Anna. In 1953, she married Ronald Stoltz, who died in 1992. In 1998, she married Robert Jack, who died in 2011. She is survived by seven children, Debra (Mrs. Barry) Miller, Eric Stoltz, Mark Stoltz, Sally (Mrs. Greg) Wigfield, Harry Stoltz, Todd Stoltz and Stephen Stoltz; three brothers and three sisters. Baronick Funeral Home, DuBois, handled arrangements. Burial will be in St. Mark Cemetery, Emporium.

Pearl I. Snyder

Pearl I. Snyder, 82, of Genesee, died Oct. 31, 2017 in her home. Born in Westfield, she was the daughter of Ernest and Ruth Williamson Benson. In 1952, she married William J. Snyder, who died in 2011. She worked as a hairdresser in Wellsville, N.Y., and was later employed by First Citizens National Bank in Genesee, Citizens & Northern Bank in Elkland and Knoxville, and Commonwealth Bank in Lawrenceville. Pearl was active with the Genesee United Methodist Church and the Gold Church. Among survivors are four children, Debbie (Mrs. Tim) Freeman of Ulysses, Sandy (Mrs. Chuck) Symonds of Elkland, Terry Snyder of Genesee, and Edie Jo (Mrs. Bernie) Seligman of Genesee; and a brother, Hervey Benson of Middlebury Center. Burial was in Ulysses Cemetery. Olney Funeral Home, Ulysses, handled arrangements.

Rosemarie E. Cummings

Rosemarie E. Cummings, 93, of Port Allegany, died Nov. 1, 2017, in Sena Kean Manor, Smethport. She was born in Coudersport, a daughter of Harvey Pritt and Louise A. Weiss Palmatier. In 1950, she married Francis E. Cummings. Mrs. Cummings worked at North Penn Gas Co., American Extract Co., Barron Tan Testing & Research Co. and L.H. Lincoln and Sons of Coudersport. Among survivors are her husband and a sister, Wanita H. Lane of Turtlepoint. Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Home, Port Allegany, handled arrangements. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery.

Harland A. Saulter

A memorial service for Harland A. Saulter will be held at 2 pm Saturday, Nov. 11, at the Hebron Union Church. Mr. Saulter, 98, formerly of Coudersport, died Sept. 11, 2017 in Sanford, N.C. He was born in Coudersport, a son of George Saulter Sr. and Annabelle (Blow) Saulter. He was a farmer and a minister. Among survivors are his wife; two sons, Robert Saulter of Savannah, Ga., and Joseph Saulter of Greenwood, N.Y.; a daughter, Gloria Smith of Robinson, Ill.; and three brothers, Everett, Clifton and Lavern Saulter, all of Coudersport. Fickinger Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
