Cocaine found during stop

State police have charged Daniel Lock, 45, of Galeton on multiple charges.

During a traffic stop last Wednesday afternoon on Sherman Street in Galeton, Lock allegedly gave police false identification. They eventually discovered that he was wanted on a warrant and was carrying cocaine in the vehicle.

Lock was charged with possession of cocaine and driving under the influence of a controlled substance.

Multiple charges

An Austin man has been arrested for allegedly threatening two women last Thursday evening.

State police were summoned to North Ruth Street at about 5:25 to apprehend Michael A. Majot, 56. He was charged with making terroristic threats and harassment.

Police filed a separate harassment count against Majot for allegedly submitting a third woman to unwanted physical contact the previous night. He was jailed in lieu of bail.

Vandalism probed

State police in Emporium are investigating an act of vandalism occurring between 7 pm last Friday evening and 3 am Saturday morning on East Second Street in the borough.

Someone kicked a large dent into the fender of a vehicle owned by Emporium resident Penny Carter.

Facing drug charges

State police from Emporium have charged 26-yearold Joshua Lowman of Bellefonte with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Troopers said they smelled marijuana and alcohol on Lowman after they pulled him over for speeding on Sizerville Road on in Portage Township.

Firewood stolen

Theft of firewood from a property on Sterling Run Road in Cameron County is being investigated by state police. Victim Larry Berry told police the theft took place sometime between 1 pm Nov. 19 and 5:30 pm Nov. 20.

Car/deer encounters

Slight injuries were reported for an Emporium driver after a car/deer encounter in Gibson Township.

According to state police, Sydney Williams lost control of his northbound car when he swerved to miss a deer on the Bucktail Trail. The SUV hit an embankment and rolled over onto the passenger side. Williams declined medical attention The vehicle had to be towed from the scene.

An Illinois man escaped injury in another car/deer collision on Rt. 6 in Roulette Township.

State police report David Hardy of Decatur was headed east when a deer jumped over a guardrail on the south side if the road. Hardy was unable to avoid impact.
