Galeton water system doing well

Galeton’s public water supply system is operating smoothly, according to a report presented during this month’s Borough Authority meeting.

Joe Cimino said the plant at Wetmore Run is running on the supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system installed by consultant Martz Technologies.

Meanwhile, there are no significant issues of concern at the sewage treatment plant. A new policy on service agreements has been implemented.

Solicitor Mike Plummer reported that he has filed paperwork related to ongoing legal issues with a delinquent customer.

Members also heard that a new electrical service provider contract arranged through the Pa. Assn. of Boroughs is forecasted to decrease the borough’s expenses by more than 40 percent for the remainder of the year.

Members attending were George Bowen, BJ Lowther and Joe Cimino. Chairman Tony Adami and Rob Pflug were absent.

Next public meeting will be held at 6 pm Tuesday, May 1, in the borough office.
