Sharing blood drive success with others

Potter County’s Lora Cope, Community Blood Bank (CBB) mobile drive coordinator, was a featured speaker at the International Assn. of Donor Relations Professionals conference in Dallas, Texas.

Her goal, and that of the association, is to increase the number of eligible donors who turn out for local blood drives. Many area hospitals, surgery centers and other medical facilities often face shortages of blood needed for surgical patients, accident victims, cancer patients and others in need.

CBB’s parent organization provides half the U.S. blood supply. Cope was selected to present a recruitment seminar that focuses on community partnerships. She is responsible for CBB’s central Pennsylvania and western New York blood drives.
