Betty M. Clingan

Betty M. Clingan, 94, of CCC Memorial Highway, Cameron County, died May 28, 2018, at Felt Manor. She was born in Har­risburg, the daughter of Walter and Katheryn Drake Fries. In 1946 she married Walter A. “Stubby” Clingan, who died in 2006. She was employed by GTE Sylvania for 38 years. She was active with Eastern Star and Girl Scouts. Among survivors are three sons, Joseph Clingan and Wally Clingan of Emporium, and Alan Clingan of North Augusta, S.C.; three daughters; Ginny Gray of Warren, and Susan Smith and Sharon Lynn of North Augusta; and a sister, Elnora Zurich of Williamsport. Coppersmith-Con­don Funeral Home handled arrangements.

Jeffrey Edward Dynda

Jeffrey Edward Dynda, 51, died May 31, 2018, in Martins­burg, Va., after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Coud­ersport, the son of Stephen E. Dynda and Patricia A. Mosch. He was a 1984 graduate of Coudersport Area High School. Among survivors are his companion, Linda Hewitt; a daughter, Amanda Shenberger; and two sisters, Lori Andruchowsky and Nancy Gu­lar. Brown Funeral Home of Martinsburg handled arrangements.

Gerald W. Moate

Gerald W. “Jerry” Moate, 67, of Emporium, died June 3, 2018, at home. He was born in St. Marys, a son of Albert and Betty Wishman Moate. Jerry was a Cameron County High School graduate. He worked for many years at Motor Coil in Empo­rium. Among survivors are a son, Corey Moate of Emporium; two daughters, Alyssa Larry and Loreleigh Moate; and three sis­ters, Virginia “Peach” Singer, Newton, N.C.; Barbara McKimm, Emporium; and Tina Mix, Weedville. Barnett Funeral Home handled arrangements.

Paul E. Galford

Paul E. Galford, 73, of Emporium, died June 3, 2018, at UPMC Altoona. He was born in Marlinton, W. Va., a son of Paul M. and Virginia M. Gum Galford. In 1969, he married Nancy Vanatta. Paul and his brother operated the Galford & Galford Logging Company. Among survivors are his wife; two daughters, Felicity Geelen of Emporium and Daphne Garzel of Port Allegany; and a brother, Creig Galford of Ware, Mass. Barnett Funeral Home handled arrangements. Burial was in Portage Township Cem­etery, Gardeau.

Ronda L. Smoker-Allen

Ronda L. Smoker-Allen, 42, of Genesee, died May 27, 2018, after a long illness. Born in Lancaster, she was a daughter of Ronald L. Smoker and Linda G. Walton. Ronda was employed at Ox Yoke Inn, Linda’s Genesee Family Restaurant and the Road­side in Shinglehouse. Among survivors are her father, three chil­dren, a grandson, and two siblings. A celebration of Ronda’s life will be held at 6 pm Saturday, July 7, at the home of her sister, Shelly Rennells, 1975 Ellisburg Road, Genesee. Virgil L. How­ard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse, is handling arrangements.

Laura E. Arndt

Laura E. Arndt, 81, of Emporium, died June 1, 2018, in Penn Highlands Elk, St. Marys. Born in Tyler, she was the daughter of Charles and Gladys Smith Beldin. In 1958, she married Tyrus E. Arndt, who died in 2011. She was employed by Cameron Manufacturing. Among survivors are a daughter, Nancy Strahl of Emporium; three brothers, Lloyd, Dennis and Richard Beldin; and two sisters, Suzie Gibbs of Emporium and Phyllis Gower of Renovo. Coppersmith-Condon Funeral Home handled arrange­ments. Burial was in Gardner Hill Cemetery, Force.

Maple E. Ingraham

Maple E. Ingraham, 97, of Coudersport, died June 4, 2018, at UPMC Cole. She was born in Westfield, the daughter of Ivan and Albertine (King) Rushmore. Maple married Bill Ingraham, who died in 1965. She worked at Smith of Galeton Gloves for many years. Among survivors are four daughters and two sons. Fickinger Funeral Home handled arrangements.

Carole J. Pelton

Carole J. Pelton, 81, of Emporium, died June 1, 2018, in UPMC Cole. Born in Emporium, she was the daughter of New­ell and Mildred Eckstrom Rinehuls. She was a 1954 graduate of Emporium High School and was known for her singing abil­ity. Among survivors are two sons, Wallace N. Pelton and Scott E. Pelton, both of Emporium; a brother, Peter Rinehuls of State College; and a sister, Linda Reid of Emporium. Coppersmith- Condon Funeral Home handled arrangements.

Brandon M. Youngs

Brandon M. Youngs, 34, of Ceres, N.Y., died June 4, 2018, in Cuba (N.Y.) Memorial Hospital after a battle with cancer. Born in Coudersport, he was a son of Clyde K. Jr. and Laurie Green Youngs. Services were held at the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.

Marie C. Traub

Marie C. Traub, 90, of Germania, died June 3, 2018 at Sweden Valley Manor. She was born in Galeton, a daughter Donald and Mabel (Lent) Chamberlain. She was a graduate of Galeton High School. In 1946, she married Charles A. Traub, who died in 2011. Marie worked for George W. DuBois, Galeton Public Library, Galeton Production, and Lush Brothers. She also helped her hus­band on their dairy farm. She was active with the American Le­gion Auxiliary, Grange, and Germania Fire Dept. Auxiliary. She was also a church organist. Among survivors are a sister, Lois C. Decius, Napa, Calif.; a daughter, Carol J. Smith, Galeton; and a son, Dean A. Traub, Germania. Hess Funeral Home handled ar­rangements. Interment was in Germania Cemetery.
