2018-07-07 / Community Life

Emporium has been going through a renaissance, of sorts, with new businesses popping up and events designed to bring the community together. Newest addition is the Mosaic Mural Project, organized by Sarah Nolan, who’s opening an art studio/gallery at the former Cappy’s Clothes storefront on Fourth Street. This project will rely heavily on community participation. Nolan has asked community members to donate pieces of glass, ceramic, shells, sea glass, etc. The pieces will be put together in mosaic style to create a mural on the side of the Embassy building. A collection bin has been placed outside of her gallery. Donated items should be no larger than a hand palm nor smaller than a penny and no more than one-half-inch thick.
