Potter County Auditors issue report

Potter County Auditors Michele Gledhill, Pauline Kleintop and Jeanette E. Stuckey have completed their review of county’s 2017 financial records.

Cash balances, revenue receipts and invoices were all found to be in order.

The board advised that an employee whose traffic violation fine was paid through county funds must make reimbursement. Auditors also suggested that a computer-based inventory be established in each department.

The audit report has been posted on the county website, pottercountypa.net (click on Departments/Auditors).

Under the County Code of Pennsylvania, in each county where the office of controller has not been established, three county auditors are elected every four years to audit the fiscal affairs of the county.

Certain state and federal government programs also require counties to retain the services of independent auditors with certified public accountant credentials for review of fiscal operations through a process known as a “single-county audit.”

For more than a decade, Potter County has retained the services of Zelenkofske Axelrod LLC of Harrisburg.
