Counties work together on bust

A cooperative drug trafficking investigation between police in Potter and McKean counties resulted in charges being filed against two Port Allegany area residents last week.

Rory D. Ford, 35, and Patricia A. Larson, 32, both of Lower Portage Road in Liberty Township, remain jailed in lieu of bail.

Coudersport Borough Police have charged them with conspiring to sell a highly addictive prescription pain medication.

On the evening of July 17, in a vehicle by their residence, Larson and Ford allegedly used a cellphone to arrange for the sale of one Subutex pill in Coudersport for $40.

Ford and Larson had been arrested the previous week for allegedly operating a methamphetamine manufacturing and trafficking operation in their home.

“The collaboration between the two county drug task forces is ongoing,” said McKean County DA Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer.

“Collaboration between counties is vital to investigating drug crimes. Travel between counties (for) drug activity is very common.”
