Butterfly release Wed. At Coudy Library

Coudersport Public Library will host a Monarch Butterfly Release on Wednesday, Sept. 19 at 6:30 p.m. at the Library.

Emily Shosh (right) of the Potter County Conservation District will discuss monarch butterflies and their role in conservation and citizen science.

The event will include the tagging and release of monarchs, and information will be available for those who wish to tag and release monarchs at home. Free milkweed seeds, harvested from reclaimed Potter County fields, will be distributed to those who sign up in advance. Refreshments will be provided.

This free program is appropriate for upper elementary age children (accompanied by an adult or older sibling) through adults.

Call the library at 274-9382 if you plan to attend, to ensure enough supplies for all.
