Merchandise displays are being arranged and the front entrance sign was mounted on Wednesday. Meanwhile, a new store is being built in Galeton, just east of the current store along Rt. 6 on the town’s eastern border. Another Dollar General opened just this week on Rt. 417 at the southern border of Olean, N.Y. The national Dollar General chain that has grown by more than 50 percent since 2010. Dollar General, Dollar Tree and Family Dollar now have more than 1,250 locations in Pennsylvania, up from less than 800 in 2007. Dollar General alone has upwards of 650 stores in the state.
