Antique Show this weekend

Pennsylvania Lumber Museum in Potter County offers one of the more popular activities during this busy autumn weekend.

The 37th annual Fall Antique Show on Saturday and Sunday features dealers and collectors from a wide area selling furniture, glass, coins, books, toys, clothing and collectibles.

But it’s much more than a vendors’ event. Attendees can witness the year’s final run of the museum’s massive steam-powered circular sawmill on Saturday.

Other historic trade demonstrations are planned for both days, including the firing of the museum birch still (to produce “spirits of wintergreen”), blacksmith demonstrations, and operation of the shingle mill and an apple press.

Hayrides will allow visitors to observe the autumn colors along the museum’s Sustainable Forestry Trail.

Hours are 9 to 4:30 on Saturday, and 9 to 3 on Sunday. Daily cost for adult admission to the show is $5.00; children are $3.00 each. Access to museum exhibit and attractions is included.
