DEER EXPERT FOCUSING ON REGION’S HERD FOR PROJECT

LEWIS MEMBER OF SR HONOR SOCIETY AT IUP



Kelsey Lewis of Emporium is a member of Indiana University of Pennsylvania’s recently honored Mortar Board National College Senior Honor Society. The daughter of Patrick and Andrea Lewis, Kelsey is a 2005 graduate of Cameron County High School majoring in criminology. Mortar Board initiates college juniors who demonstrate excellence in scholarship, student leadership and community service.

SHOES BEING COLLECTED FOR NEEDY CHILDREN



Shoes are being collected at the First Baptist Church of Emporium for delivery to underprivileged children. Youths recently filled 17 boxes with shoes as part of Operation Christmas Child. Donations can be dropped off at the church located on the corner of Fifth and Broad streets. For details, contact Holly Melott at 486-5691.

GRANT WILL HELP IMPROVE CHILDREN’S SERVICES



A state grant for $45,442 has been approved to improve government services to children and families in Cameron County. Funds will be used for prevention of child abuse and neglect, as well as child care services, and programs addressing mental retardation and behavioral health issues.

CHRISTMAS CHORAL CONCERT SUNDAY
